Nella Montfoort (1948)

Nella Montfoort, geboren te Dordrecht, volgde de opleiding Vrije Schilderkunst aan de Academie voor Industriële Vormgeving (AIVE) te Eindhoven en voltooide haar studie aan de Koninklijke Academie voor Kunst en Vormgeving te ’s-Hertogenbosch.
Tijdens haar studie ontving zij de Koninklijke Subsidie voor de Vrije Schilderkunst.
Na haar afstuderen vertrok zij naar Amsterdam waar zij nog steeds woont en werkt. Zij exposeert regelmatig in Nederland en daarbuiten.
Haar werk is vertegenwoordigd in rijks-, gemeentelijke en particuliere collecties.

Nella Montfoort heeft zich naast schilderen, tekenen en etsen steeds ook beziggehouden met andere expressievormen zoals film, fotografie, dans (flamenco, tango) en theaterperformances.
De schilderkunst heeft echter voor haar altijd de boventoon gevoerd. Haar schilderijen, die veelvuldig thema’s uit het "theater" van het ondagelijkse leven uitbeelden, worden gekenmerkt door monumentale vormen en een heldere, krachtige en kleurige uitstraling.
