Adrian Brun (1970)

“Jong Talent 2008, HKU”. The exploration of the body, organic systems and reproduction, are the pillars where my work is based on. The intricacy and organicity of the human body lead me to give form to a new "approach" to it: Friendlier and closer. I appreciate the power and the sweetness of organs and flesh and I'm undoubtedly related to them, because of what they are and mostly because of what they do to us. Such things I cannot understand intellectually but only viscerally and that I intent to translate through the sculptural language, in a more universal way turning them into an experience. Docenten: Adrian has spent the last four years developing an individual sculptural language. He has used this language to visualize a physical and spiritual fascination with human biology and the wonder and mystery of the reproductive system. Resulting in photographs, performance and sculpture with a fundamental and universal subject matter. The work has acquired depth through a comprehensive study process. It has been personalized by his knowledge and understanding of the subject, and his intuitive sensitivity for form and material. The hight level of achievement in his work is the result of hard work, a positive attitude and most importantly of all: talent.
