Sarah Gillard (1962)

First and foremost I am a colourist. I specialize in Floral Art, Landscapes and Abstracts in gouaches/paper and acrylics/canvasses.

I was born in Pembury, Kent (United Kingdom) and studied Art & Design at Banbury College before graduating from Middlesex Polytechnic in 1983 in Constructed Textiles.

Inspired throughout my life by colour and, having worked for both The Conran Shop and Nina Campbell, my first break was in 1989 when I joined the Liberty Design Studio. An invaluable experience, I spent most of my time working mainly as a colourist for the entire fashion range of fabrics and scarves. It was during this time that I began painting, which led to my first exhibition in 1993 at the Lyric Theatre in London.

Since then I have been working on private commissions and other freelance work. Recently my work has been published into greeting cards, posters, calendars and limited edition-prints, sold world-wide.
